As agents for the owners and property managers, we
urge you to read the following information and print a copy for your
files to carry with you for reference and planning your Caribbean
Vacation.
ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR YOUR INFORMATION
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
MAID SERVICE - For all properties, we send in a cleaning service
before your arrival and after your departure so that your rental
property is sparkling clean. Some villas do not include maid service
with their rentals due to overwhelming requests from guests for
complete privacy. If the property you choose does not have service
included as part of your quoted rental price, we can arrange for maid
service for you as often as you wish at an average price U. S. $50 to
$75 per visit. This service is for hotel type general cleaning and
tidying. Any personal laundry, cooking or baby sitting must be
arranged in advance with us, and prices set according to services
required. We'll be happy to book these extra services for your
vacation. If you do have a maid, a tip is always appreciated !
GROCERIES and COOKS - On St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and
Tortola, we have several excellent and flexible cooks who are
available for one special dinner only, to three meals a day for the
duration of your villa stay. We have sample menus from each of our
chefs and will generally put the cook you choose directly in touch
with you so you can discuss menus, dietary requirements, and your
grocery shopping list with her or him. They will require a deposit
for both grocery shopping and for their cooking; you may send money
to us to for to distribute to them, or directly to them. Cooks will
do your shopping for approximately $50 for the first trip and $25 for
each additional trip, depending on whose available and cooking fee is
about $140 per day for 2 meals for a group of six, or about $140 to
prepare dinner for 6. Three meals a day for 6 is approximately $160
per day. Please bear in mind St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix are a
U.S. Territory, and the U.S. minimum wage applies here, so cooks and
other services will cost you more in the U.S.V.I. than on other West
Indian Islands. With sufficient advance notice, we can pre-stock your
villa with the food and beverage of your choice, grocery shopping
service alone without cooking ranges from a flat fee of $50 to $75
per trip, depending on who's available and the amount of groceries
ordered. Complete prepared dinners with a choice of entree and
dessert delivered to your villa, may also be ordered in advance,
priced at $20 to $45 per person. For other needs, please call Tony
Hunt, our Guest Services Manager, who will assist you in hiring a
cook or with making grocery delivery arrangements.
On St. John, Victory Food Provisioning can provide arrival-night
grocery packages or can do full provisioning for you and can also
arrange catered dinners and parties at your villa ... island weddings

STARTER KITS / CHAMPAGNE BASKETS - On St. Thomas, we offer for
$69.95 a Villa Starter kit which contains a variety of drinks snacks,
breakfast fixings etc. and a Champagne Basket for special occasions
which has Mumms Champagne, fruits, cheese and crackers, and Perrier.
All baskets are beautifully decorated with fresh tropical flowers and
ribbons, and delivered fresh to your villa before your arrival. For

direct phone & fax numbers to contact Debi Cashen for
arrangements. ( Debi is also available to do grocery shopping before
you arrive for a $50 to $75 fee).
SPECIAL SERVICES - We can arrange almost anything you wish, on
any island, with ample advance notice - discuss your needs and wishes
with our Guest Services Manager. He'll arrange whatever assistance,
car rental information, or island activities you'd like to add to
enhance your Caribbean vacation.
BABY EQUIPMENT - On St. Thomas, we have available for
rent portable baby cribs. ($24 per week or $4 per day, for furniture
only, you bring the mattress pad and sheets), a portable playpen ($20
per week or $4 per day) and high chairs ($20 per week or $4 per day).
All rentals are delivered to your villa and set up before your
arrival. There is a flat fee $35 for delivery and pickup, for one
item or all four. Infants and toddlers are not included in the
headcount which determines your rental rate IF they sleep in a crib.
IF they sleep in one of the villa's beds, they ARE counted as a
paying guest. On St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix, USVI law
requires all children under 5 years to be in a child-restraint seat (
or if a child is 3 to 5 years old, he may wear a regular belt IF he
is in a rear seat). Car seats are available from your rental car
agency - please order one when you book your rental car. There may be
a charge.
AIR CONDITIONING - Not all Caribbean homes have air conditioning,
because this area is richly blessed with constant tradewinds which
keep the climate and humidity here so wonderful. Nearly every
property has ceiling fans in most of the rooms, and these combined
with our tropical breezes coming off the ocean will keep you cool and
comfortable … really! You'll truly find that air conditioning just
isn't necessary here for most weeks of the year.
LOUD, LATE PARTYING - Some of our homes are located in
sedate, residential neighborhoods, and if you and your friends want
to make some partying, a part of your vacation, please check with us
before your book a particular property - We’ll advise you as to the
neighborhood climate. Sorry, NO parties or gatherings for groups
larger than the those renting a house are allowed in our villas
without prior written permission - please talk to us or our agents
about your needs and desires well before you arrive..
DAMAGE DEPOSITS - Damage deposits are fully refundable to you
within 30 days of your departure, provided there is no breakage
damage, or long distance calls charged to the house telephone and
other charges occurred before, during or after your stay still
outstanding. All normal utilities (except for your long-distance
phone calls ) are included in your rental price. Water is at a
premium here, so you will have to watch that you only use what you
need.
PAYMENTS AND CANCELLATION - Once you have phoned in your villa
reservation to us, you have a TWO-WEEK grace period to send your
deposit in to us.
After the two weeks, Your " hold " on the property will be
subject to cancellation without further notice.
The initial deposit required is ONE-HALF the RENT to confirm and
guarantee your villa reservation. The balance due of rent, plus Hotel
Tax and your damage deposit, are due here at least 45 days prior to
your arrival. Your first payment " deposit " will always be applied
towards the total rent. Cancellations will be honored if made outside
of 45 days prior to your arrival, less a 20% service charge in some
cases. Cancellations made within 45 days of your arrival may be
subject to forfeiture of 100 per cent of your total rent, unless we
are able to rebook your rental dates. Naturally, we'll always do our
utmost to fill dates which must be cancelled for whatever reason, so
that a full or partial refund can be made to you without loss to the
owner. Refund arrangements can depend largely on the amount of notice
given to us of the cancellation, and on the time of the year. All
owners who will not refund cash will be happy to reschedule your
rental to another time slot in the future. For peace of mind, we
recommend cancellation insurance, available through your travel
agent. No refunds may be given for early departure from a villa,
unless there is a problem which cannot be cured within 24 hours or
causes our guests extreme undue discomfort or serious inconvenience.
* Please note that U.S.V.I. rentals under 90 days duration are
subject to an 8% GOVERNMENT HOTEL TAX , 7% hotel tax on Tortola and
Virgin Gorda, and 8% hotel tax on Grenada, so be sure you figure this
additional cost into your vacation budget.
AIRPORT ESCORTS - We’ll be glad to meet you at the airport OR at
your car rental agency and lead you to your vacation villa and get
you settled. You will also have our day and night phone numbers for
contact in case you need anything (even advice !) during your island
vacation. We are a small staff, so we cannot assist you back to the
airport upon departure (altho Debi Cashen of Speedy Delivery,
779-4878, is available for hire to help get you and your luggage to
the St. Thomas airport). Please be sure you rent a vehicle large
enough for your entire party PLUS luggage! Rental cars here are
usually small, compact models, and jeeps will hold four passengers
but little to no luggage- please plan accordingly. For other islands,
we always arrange to have you met on arrival and escorted to your
villa; for St. John, St. Croix, Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Grenada
arrivals, try to schedule your arrival as early in the afternoon as
possible, and call our agent at Caribbean Rentals and Reservation
Center or Tony Hunt well in advance before you travel to discuss your
arrival details, and the ferry schedule.
CHECK OUT TIME - We ask our St. Thomas guests to vacate their
villas no later than 12 noon. Many of our villas have other groups of
guest checking in the same afternoon as other guests depart, so our
housekeepers need all that time to clean, do laundry and prepare the
properties for the incoming arrivals. You're welcome to check with
our office during your stay to see I anyone is arriving the day you
leave; if not, most likely you'll be we welcome to stay on later into
the afternoon. But be sure to check with us first so we can notify
the staff that you'll be there an extra hour or two. Other islands
require earlier checks times and later check-in times - please see
your Vacation Rental Confirmation.
BROCHURES AND PHOTOGRAPHS - We have photos or a full color
brochure for each property. After you've had a chance to review this
list of what we have to offer, please dont hesitate to phone or write
if you’d like further information and photos or brochures on specific
properties, or if you have any questions or special requests or
needs. We'll be glad to rush more info to you and to help you with
just about anything you need or require to assist you in your
selection .
