Description

Originally 18th century coral warehouse and mill, the Cotton House has retained many of the original features. The hotel allows sophisticated island lovers to enjoy the miles of white sand beaches and the exclusivity that Mustique offers.

Located just south of St. Vincent in the Grenadines. Guests arriving in Barbados can transfer to Mustique by Mustique Air or private charter. Cotton House is nestled on a hilltop just 100 yards from the Caribbean and 200 yards from the Atlantic.

Accommodation

The 20 rooms at Cotton House are categorised as follows:

3 Ocean front master rooms, 2 ocean front rooms in Coutinot House

4 deluxe suites, 8 deluxe terrace rooms

3 pool cottages.

All rooms have the finest in-room amenities: monogrammed bathrobes, fine Egyptian cotton, sheets and towels, oversized Floris bath amenities, personal fax machines, in-room hair dryers, fully stocked mini bars, direct dial telephones, personal stereo CD players and a choice of reading material. All accommodations have individually controlled air conditioning.

Restaurants and Bars

Breakfast is available in the Great House or in the room, and is offered both a la carte and buffet style.

Lunch: a special a la carte menu is served from noon on the Great House veranda, or guests can order a picnic lunch and blanket.

Sport and Recreation

Located directly on the beach, the Cotton House offers its own water sports and dive shop, as well as its own yacht available for private excursions. As well as the complimentary non-motorised water sports, scuba diving trips can be arranged.
Two tennis courts are located on the property and horse riding can be arranged. Nature hikes and beach strolls are favourite island activities.
"Mules", island terrain vehicles are available for rental.

OCEAN FRONT MASTER ROOMS AND OCEAN FRONT ROOMS.

Old world charm in the fabulous stone Coutinot House, designed and crafted by artist and designer Oliver Messel. Magnificent private terraces offer walkways to one of Mustique’s renowned white beaches and the bluest of seas. Fully stocked wet bars, walk-in closets, and well-appointed bathrooms. These rooms will be closed for renovation between 1st May and 19 December 1997.

DELUXE SUITE OCEAN VIEW WITH TERRACE

Spacious and elegant, each of the four deluxe suites offer private sitting rooms with a wet bar, king sized beds with mosquito netting, fabulous terraces with garden and ocean views and large baths with sunken tubs.

DELUXE TERRACE ROOMS LARGE PRIVATE AND WRAP-AROUND TERRACES

Hillside rooms with sweeping views of the terrain and many with ocean views, Messel Rooms offer oversized private and wrap-around terraces. Stone walkways through subdued evening lit gardens lead to plantation homes with original works and furnishings designed by Oliver Messel. Fabulous evening breezes, exotic views of hilltops, valleys and sea.

POOL COTTAGES GARDEN AND OCEAN VIEW

Charming private cottages, each with delightful views of the ocean. Individually appointed, each of the three private cottages feature walk in closets, well appointed bathrooms and private entrance with footbath. Located near the pool and overlooking beautiful L’Ansecoy Bay, enjoy cool evening breezes for the Caribbean romance.

Chef Daniel Pochron, one of the Caribbean's premiere ex-patriot chefs, creates world class dining at the Cotton House. Utilizing exquisite food and wine pairings, and the freshest of island ingredients, the Cotton House is pleased to offer meals in three locations daily and will also happily serve you at a special romantic location of your choosing. Breakfast is available in the Great House or your room and is offered both à la carte and buffet style.

A special à la carte lunch menu is offered from noon or place an order for a picnic lunch and blanket as you explore the island and its amny secluded beaches. Consult with the chef for a specialized menu and he will cater to your personal requests.

Traditional afternoon tea is served daily in the Great House amidst relaxing music. Enjoy afternoon chess, backgammon and other games as the cool breeze blows through the shaded house in the late afternoon.

Join with other island guests at the General Manager's cocktail party hosted in his ocean-side home with hors d'oeuvres, champagne and good conversation.

Candle-lit à la carte dinner is served nightly on the Verandah and in the Great House. In a addition to the fine house selection of wines and French champagne, the Cotton House offers and extensive wine list for purchase.

All cocktails, bar drinks, mini-bar selections and snacks are included in the daily room rate.

Sport and Recreation

Water Sports

Complimentary water sports include snorkeling, windsurfing, and Sunfish sailing. Other water activities such as fishing, scuba diving and Hobie Cat are available.

Beach & Pool

The Cotton House offers two private beaches, one on the Atlantic Ocean and one on the Caribbean Sea. Butlered food service is availble at both locations as well as at the private hillside pool. Chaise lounges and beach towels are provided.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding and equestrian lessons are available daily on the island for an additional fee.

Tennis

Enjoy tennis on Cotton House own courts or one of the island's four lighted tennis courts. Instructions and lessons are available.

Dress Code: Casual and elegant, jackets are the exception on Mustique. Weddings: The hotel will assist guests who wish to marry at the Cotton House with their necessary licence requirements and the appointment of a ceremony official. A short trip to the islands of St.Vincent is required.

Mustique Holiday Festivities: Popular Mustique holiday traditions and festivities include Christmas Santa Parade, Easter Hat parade, charity auctions, and special music festivities.

Nanny Service: The Cotton House is pleased to offer private nanny service for your family throughout your stay. An informal questionaire will allow the manager to select the proper nanny to suit your needs.

Special Guest Services: 24-hour room service, laundry and pressing, airport executive check-in and transfer and full concierge services.

Air Transportation: Guests arrive in Barbados via American, BWIA, Air Canada, British Airways and Lufthansa for transfer to Mustique Air or private charter.

Guests are met both in Barbados and in Mustique by Cotton House personnel for ease of transfer.

Proof of Citizenship: Origional or certified copy of birth certificate with photo I.D. are acceptable proof for United States and Canadian citizens, however, valid passports are recommended.

Island Transportation: For an additional daily rental, Cotton House guests can have a private island buggy, known as a "Mule" for island exploration and transportation.

Arrival & Departure: Registration is 2 p.m. on day of arrival and 12 noon on day of departure. It is recommended an extra night be booked for late departures.

Voltage: 110 volts, 60 cycles.
